Just when you thought you had all of your hemp and cannabis acronyms down, I have another one to throw into the mix: CBN. Formally known as cannabinol, CBN is another up-and-coming cannabinoid you’re going to want to know all about - and then get your hands on, of course.
Suddenly, CBD is everywhere. From gummies to lip balm, from water to coffee, CBD is taking over the wellness industry and is making an impact on the health and wellbeing of people all around the world. Everyone and their mother (and your chiropractor, esthetician, doctor, and even therapist) is touting the benefits of CBD. But what exactly is it?
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve heard of, and already know plenty about, THC and CBD...but what about cannabigerol (CBG)? Daenerys Targaryen may be the Mother of Dragons, but CBG is the Mother of Cannabinoids. Consider CBG the true O.G. of hemp and cannabis, because she came first. Don’t get it twisted. (More on that in a few paragraphs…)
CBG is considered a minor cannabinoid as it is present in less than 1% of most cannabis strains. From what I have read, production is seemingly difficult or relatively less attractive in that producers need to actively decide to grow plant varietals with lower THC levels (going against market trends for more THC) and/or harvest plants earlier in the flowering cycle (again going against most other trends).

In this article we’ll dive into the differences between CBD and THC. Then you can make informed decisions when integrating products into your wellness routine that best suit your lifestyle and needs.
